All these channels and there's nothing on!

I was just thinking about how sometimes, when i'm flipping through the channels, can't find anything on i'm interested in. With the hundreds of channels i have, you would think there would be something i would wanna watch? Turns out more often than not, there isn't much on tv that really excites me. I think it may be all the commercials. I think commercials fill up so much dead air space, it's ridiculous. I once taped a patriots game, without the commercials, and i must say that it only took about about an hour worth of tape. The game usually lasts 3 to 3 1/2 hours. So that's like 2 hours of just commercials. I just think there should be some kind of limit to how much commercial time there is given to certain programs, or even all programs for that matter. Any thoughts?

  1. We started watching TV series runs via Netflix several years ago (did without cable), and with Hulu et al still free it's harder to justify the cable bill as it is. We're planning to downsize to the most basic cable television package, but keep the low-end high-speed Internet. I am already mourning the loss of NESN this summer, but I'll live...
